My own nutrition story began a few years ago when I was in a terrible state with acne, sugar cravings, PMS, bloating and constant tiredness. As a midwife working 12-hour shifts, including nightshifts it was playing havoc with my hormonal health.
Following a PCOS diagnosis, I began reading everything I could get my hands on about food and nutrition which would help my symptoms, discovering how the food we eat determines everything from how good our skin looks to how well our brain works, and everything in between.
I was blown away by the power of food. That’s when I enrolled in the College of Naturopathic Medicine and I’ve never looked back.
As well as nutritional therapy while also working as a nurse/midwife with over 20 years' experience, I've seen the struggles of many women with miscarriages, infertility, IVF, weight issues, endometriosis, PCOS, thyroid conditions, menopause and pregnancy concerns such as gestational diabetes, constipation, thrush, tiredness, morning sickness and post-natal depression. So alongside further training in advanced fertility nutrition, naturally the area of women’s health, fertility and pregnancy is my specialty.
I’m also a member of Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (NTOI) and run my Women’s health clinic online as well as working as a midwife. I work with a number of trusted professionals such as consultants, testing laboratories, complimentary therapists to ensure my clients benefit from the full range of appropriate treatments available.
